Turner Smith is a co-founder & Managing Principal and member of the Board of Directors of Tuckerbrook Alternative Investments, LLC and member of the Executive Investment Committee. Turner also supports the portfolio management activities of the Tuckerbrook l SB Global Distressed Strategy and the Tuckerbrook Real Assets Strategy.
Turner has over 25 years of Wall Street investment banking, private equity and alternative investment experience. He has significant background and relationships covering the private equity and venture capital communities, including select experience in principal co-investing opportunities. Prior to forming Tuckerbrook, Turner was a Managing Principal at Radius Capital Partners, a private equity and M&A advisory firm. Previously Turner was a Managing Director and senior banker in PaineWebber's Technology Investment Banking Group in New York where he had responsibility for the e-commerce sector, among other areas. Prior to joining PaineWebber, he was a New York-based Managing Director in the Investment Banking Group of Jefferies & Co., a national, institutionally-focused investment banking firm. Turner also served as a Managing Director for many years at Smith Barney in New York, which included a period when he founded and headed the firm's Consumer Investment Banking Group.
Turner has an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Colgate University.
